Nurturing the entrepreneurship ecosystem every year
Every year, Arabnet organizes their infamous conference in Beirut, bringing together top figures in the fields of marketing, product development, entrepreneurship, digital business among other fields. The talks are insightful, industry specific and all geared towards equipping all new, established or soon-to-be entrepreneurs with the proper skills they need. We are lucky to be attending, discussing Matic’s latest launch in Beirut with attendees, and being part of the growing entrepreneurship ecosystem in Beirut!
Insights from Day 1
We started the day (trying) to attend the first talk on advertising by Eastline Academy. The room was fully packed with people sitting in the aisles and sides of the room, eagerly listening to the myriad of tools for advertising that Jennifer Kanaan presented.
Cyrille Najjar, from White Sur White and professor of entrepreneurship, engaged the audience with his talk on building products that customers want. Ideas for products and solutions filled the room, and what had started off as a shy response from the audience to share ideas turned into 10 minutes of different ideas from the audience. He ended his talks referring us to a reading list, and a variety of resources needed to start prototyping a product. We loved the sharing and learning spirit.
We even attended a third talk by Zak El Fassi (who works on product partnerships on Facebook) who demonstrated how to build a Messenger Bot and how useful it is in driving sales for most business, especially online businesses.
The coffee breaks were packed with entrepreneurs beaming with ideas, students who are still studying but also work on their ideas and products in their spare time as well as several startups. The spirit of Arabnet is all about sharing skills and best practices, building the perfect environment for entrepreneurship in Beirut and the region!
We’re looking forward to some more networking, valuable insight and the startup pitch happening tomorrow!
